EXPERT TIP If door hinges become loose, the quickie repair is to install a longer screw. This won't work for long. Instead, you must drill a new and bigger hole into an existing screw hole. To do this, fill the hole using a wooden dowel. Re-attach the hinge with a new screw.

Another tip If your screen door is not closing, then check to see if the striker plate needs a gentle tap with a hammer to increase it's angle against the tongue of the lock when it closes. |
